    Echocardiography

    The American Society of Echocardiography has created a website to help you find information about Echocardiograms. What they are, what they do and who does them. To get there click on SeeMyHeart.org.

    PROCEDURES:

    • Echocardiograms utilizing Agilent 5500 series equipment with harmonics.
    • 2D, M Mode, doppler and color doppler modulators with Registered Sonographers and the area's only accredited echo lab. (Accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accredidation of Echocardiography Laboratories).
    • Non-invasice Carotid imaging utilizing Agilents 5500 are also available.

    EQUIPMENT:

    • Agilent 5500 Series.

    APPROACH:

    • Non-invasive technology in a very pleasant environment with registered echo sonographers and highly skilled cardiologists for echo interpretation and application.
    • Data is stored on video cassettes as well as digital storage.

    WHERE DONE/WHEN:

    • Fort Myers - Monday thru Friday.
    • Cape Coral - Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

    CLOTHING:

    • Prefer a top/shirt that can be removed easily.

    HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE:

    • 30-45 minutes

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE PROCEDURE:

    • An ultrasound image is taken of your heart with a small probe and ultrasound gel.
    • You will be asked to lie on your left side and on your back with your head raised slightly.
    • All images are stored on a VCR and digital format and then reviewed by our cardiologists for interpretation.

    How many people are allowed to be with them? Up to two (2) comfortably in the exam room.
